While it’s our entry-level plan, it provides solid protection against major issues that could leave you stranded. And, it’s highly cost effective – perfect for budget-conscious buyers.

Extended Warranty Standard
Delivering greater peace of mind. This warranty covers a wide range of mechanical and electrical components, should they fail suddenly during the cover period. This includes everything that’s covered in our Essentials plan, along with the Braking System, Central Locking, Air Conditioning and more – ideal for drivers who want extra support and security.

Extended Warranty Plus
Extended Warranty Plus is our most extensive warranty. It’s designed for drivers who expect the best, offering robust protection for your vehicle, including the repair or replacement of factory-fitted mechanical and electrical components, should they fail suddenly during the cover period.

You are covered for the costs (limited to parts and labour inclusive of VAT up to the maximum claim limit) of repairing or replacing the covered components below that have suffered sudden electrical or mechanical failure occurring within the area of cover and during the period of cover.

Electrical and mechanical failure includes failure due to wear and tear for the first 100,000 miles from first registration under the warranty section of this cover, damage by water ingress and consequential failure, limited to £5,000 per claim inclusive of VAT for the latter.

Gradual reduction in high voltage battery capacity over time is integral to the nature of the component, and does not represent a defect under the terms of this guarantee, as long as the reduction in capacity does not fall below 70% of the vehicle’s battery capacity at first registration (as measured by a Volkswagen authorised repairer).

With the exception of the warranty term, all warranty conditions stipulated by the Volkswagen retailer selling the vehicle (prerequisites, criteria for freedom from defects, exclusions, settlement of claims, entry into force and start of extended warranty term, scope of application etc.) also apply to the high voltage battery.

Additional electric car warranties: All of our electric cars have a 3-year/60,000 miles warranty (whichever is soonest), for defects and repairs, a 3-year paintwork warranty and a 12-year body protection warranty.

Exclusions apply throughout, so please read our Terms and Conditions.
